Spillage and Clean-up
The National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998) legislation states that every person must take measures to prevent a release of product into the environment.
In the event of an incident, the costs of remedying the pollution, environmental degradation and potential adverse health effects are the responsibility of the transporter in the event of a spillage or incident caused by the transporter.
